While he is writing his columns for Dance Music Report, he learns about a hip hop dj that was playing this eclectic sound of funk and rock all mixed up in The Bronx Area. He pays a visit to meet DJ Afrika Bambatta, and the rest is history. Tom loved what he witnessed and asked Afrika if he would like to make a record from all the tracks that you are playing in your set. At that precious moment Tommy Boy Records was created. We stopped the interview early as Tom promised he would come back and speak more about his life in the music industry. TRUE HOUSE STORIES™ W/ BOB BLANK # 057 - PART 2
Bob Blank is growing with the Salsa Community and now is being sort out as a hot engineer producer. As the disco explosion begins Dan Rather from 60 Minutes recorded a video clip at Bobs Studio Blank Tapes which becomes an important segment for CBS Television based around the excitement of Studio 54 and the Saturday Night Fever Explosion. At the time Bob was also mixing records for DeLite Records, Prelude Records, Patrick Adams, Leroy Burgess and so many others. He explains how Patrick Adams would write on the fly scores of music at the sessions for the string and horn sections. One of the top albums he worked on was the group Musique on Prelude which was a game changer for the disco sound. Bob also talks about how he was instructed by the labels to push the records to sound crazier. He did this alongside the DJs in the sessions by pushing more heavy bass and bringing out the rhythm section in the mix and as well editing new parts giving the listener a whole new version that was perfect for the dancefloor. TRUE HOUSE STORIES™ W/ HIPPIE TORRALES # 044 - PART 2
Hippie Torrales becomes one of the most sought after DJ's in the New Jersey area because of Club Dock's in the late 1970's. His famous trick was to let two records mix for long periods without touching them. He is brought in to open the Famous Club Zanzibar in 1979 that was formerly known as Abe's Disco in Newark New Jersey. As his career spans into the 1980's he begins his remix career and helps make The Clark Sisters Song called "You Brought The Sunshine" on Westbound Records a huge hit through his remix. He later hooks up with another label in the beginning of the house music movement called Music Village Recordings and produced and write a song called "Your Gonna Miss Me When I am Gone" which went on to sell millions of copies overseas. He is also responsible for helping Rosie Gaines have a huge dance hit and tours the world as a guest DJ and is still ever strong today. Great story by such a humble artist.

Fish Go Deep are Irish house dons Greg Dowling and Shane Johnson. As DJs, the pair have been spinning records together since the late eighties, holding down a residency at “Sweat" in Cork for over a decade until November 2001. These days you can catch them at their weekly Go Deep residency in Cork in between guest slots at club nights in mainland Europe, South Africa and North America. As Fish Go Deep, their productions have been released on Defected, Innervisions, Brique Rouge and Gourmet as well as their own imprints Ork and Go Deep. In 2006 they had their biggest record to date, 'The Cure and the Cause', a collaboration with vocalist / lyricist Tracey K which was licensed to UK house stable imprint Defected Records.
